Baptism

What is Baptism?

Baptism is your next step after becoming a follower of Jesus. Baptism is not what makes you saved, but instead, it’s an outward expression of the inner commitment you made to follow Jesus. In the Bible, every example of baptism we see comes after a person first believes in Jesus, and then follows His commandment to be baptized, given in Matthew 28:19, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit.” In Romans 6:1-11, the apostle Paul explains the significance and symbolism of baptism by immersion under water. Going under the water symbolizes being buried with Jesus, and coming up out of the water represents His resurrection and how we, too, are raised to new life.
